Chicago Under the Stars
There is no better experience than going to the Hollywood Bowl for their yearly presentation of an unforgettable Broadway musical, and this years production of "Chicago" was wonderful. The large screens make it so much more enjoyable for those of us who are not lucky enough to be able to sit close to the stage, but the sound system makes it thoroughly possible to enjoy the entire show and not miss a word. Having seen several productions of Chicago, both in New York, and London, I thought that Brooke Shields did a phenomenal job of directing. The only drawback for me was the casting of Lucy Lawless as "Mama". Although beautiful with a lovely voice, she wasn't "Mama"...too refined for that role, so was somewhat dissappointed at that, but overall, loved the production and suggest that everyone go see it, for there is no better combination of events than a great show, a beautiful setting, good food, and wonderful friends to join in.
